Unshaven Hair Transplant
What is Unshaven Hair Transplant?
Hair transplant is the most common aesthetic surgery requested by men in the modern world. Recently, Unshaven FUE eliminates the necessity to clean shave the hair before a hair transplant.
Hair loss starts with balding in anterior regions. Anterior hairline gets lost, and then, bald areas slowly develop in vertex; hair loss in anterior and posterior hairs meet and balding occurs on the vertex.
Clean shave is not required, if hair loss is confined to anterior hair. Unshaven FUE hair transplant can be easily performed, if hair is weak and it is possible to perform procedures between hair strands.
Especially for men with hair growing up to 4 cm in back of the scalp, two strips, measuring approximately 1 to 2 cm in thickness, are shaved, while the shaved area is hidden with long hairs;
it is possible to get hair that appear very normal, can be concealed with no need to shaving in 2 to 3 days.
What are the Differences between Unshaven Hair Transplant and Shaven Hair Transplant?
Unshaven hair transplant is one of the methods that are preferred especially by men. Because, as we know, shave hair transplant requires shaving the scalp clean.
Shave FUE is absolutely required for persons who have totally bald vertex and need intensive hair transplant or in other words, 3000 to 5000 grafts.
Shaving is a necessity to harvest hair follicles from the back of the scalp. Unshaven FUE is preferred for men and women with small transplant area and hair weak enough to allow transferring hair
follicles between hair strands.
After Unshaven Hair Transplant
Postoperative period of no shave FUE is identical to that of other hair transplantation methods. Hair transplant doctors inform the patient in detail about how hair should be protected and washed.
At this stage, it is sufficient to follow recommendations of the doctor. Growth of transplant hair follows a physiological process. New hairs will start growing in 3-month interval and growth is accelerated
in Month 6.
The real outcomes will be visible at the end of the first year. Hairs can be grown and dressed as desired after the procedure.
